Bloc Studios + NM3

Bloc Studios and NM3 collaboration arise from the aesthetic synthesis shared by the two Italian realities: a series of rigorous,
elegant, and schematic furniture emphasizing the hybrid and multiple aspects of materiality, technology, and form. The result
is a series of steel + marble furniture:
NMBL1: 4 MOBILE ELEMENTS IN STAINLESS STEEL BA AND JADEITE
The first series “NMBL1” is composed of movable elements in stainless steel and Jadeite. The trolleys (4 in total) are
characterized by the use of BA stainless steel and Verde Giada marble, which we find on each shelf with the top one with a
special 30-degree cut.
NMBL2 / NMBL2R:  9 ELEMENTS IN BLACK IRON AND PIETRA SELVA
The second series “NMBL2 / NMBL2R” is composed of 5 elements in hot rolled black iron and Pietra Selva: a material with
an ancient history but which, compared to other Carrara materials, has always been underestimated, both for its technical
processing difficulties (it’s a very hard stone) and also for commercial reasons (we can only find it in small quantities and
every single piece differs in quality and coloring). The Pietra Selva is located at the top of the same quarry from which its
more “famous brothers” Bardiglio and Bianco Carrara are extracted.
Bloc studios and NM3 wanted to bring to light the importance of this forgotten stone by re-proposing it and presenting it as
the undisputed protagonist for its rarity and uniqueness. The combination with the raw black iron, characterized by a
particular texture due to the hot rolling of the coils, produces a relationship between materials and textures that works by
analogy, unlike the previous series where the relationship is of contrast. The last collection series consists of the smallest element representing the "trait d'union" between the objects in Pietra Selva and Black Iron and Inox and Jadeite.
NMBL3 stools, placed around the dining table, combine a black iron base with a 2cm thick jade top with a 30° angle, working
as a joining element between the two series.
