Isole
By Tableau & Bloc Studios
The series consists of two tables, one reversible vase, a family of candleholders, and a tray in Botticino marble and Onyx. Together, these pieces explore the meeting point between monolithic materiality and soft, organic form. Inspired by clusters of islands shaped over time by water and erosion, each object appears both geological and fluid, as though carved by nature rather than by hand. Rounded contours intersect with precise vertical cuts, creating silhouettes that continuously shift depending on the angle from which they are viewed.
Crafted from richly veined marble and translucent onyx, the objects balance permanence with delicacy. Their tactile surfaces reveal the individuality of each stone slab, embracing natural variation as an essential part of the design language. Moving between furniture and sculpture, the collection presents functional pieces that carry the quiet presence of architectural fragments or ancient artifacts.
At the heart of Isole lies an investigation into repetition and proximity. Like islands within a chain, the forms relate to one another through subtle variations in scale, proportion, and rhythm. Some pieces stand alone, while others come together to form landscapes of varying heights and volumes.
The result is a series that feels timeless yet distinctly contemporary: calm, tactile, and deeply rooted in material expression.
