Marmo Donuts

Sabine Marcelis

Designed by Sabine Marcelis, the Marmo Donuts are composed by 3 nesting rings cut from a single piece of stone as perimeters for objects to be placed inside. As an alternative to a bowl or tray, these objects create a barrier yet don’t have the expected form language of other table vessels. There is room for interpretation of use.

The designer is interested in the intersection between creating functional items and more anonymous sculptural objects. The Marmo Donuts don’t instantly give away their function and can live as objects not-in-use just as well as when they are being used.
